Our default shipping agent is UPS, Fed Ex or Canada Post.
Please note that UPS and Fed Ex will use Purolator in certain rural areas.
Due to high UPS and Fed Ex surcharges for certain rural areas, which are not reflected in the online shipping quote, MUTHALAND SECRETS has the right to change the courier for your order to Canada Post OR USPS.
MUTHALAND SECRETS takes no responsibility for any losses, damages or delays that may occur. Similarly, we must be notified should additional insurance be required. Without notification we ship products without insurance. Please note that transporters often do not heat their trucks in winter, nor refrigerate them in summer. This will not harm the integrity of the product. Simply leave the product at room temperature for 24 hours before opening. Occasionally, stirring the product before use will be required to regain its consistency.
We currently do not require orders to be signed when delivered.
We notify our customers for out-of-stock items. If we do not hear back from them within 2 business days, their orders will be shipped as-is and the balance will be refunded to them by the original method of payment. Out-of-stock items are NOT automatically shipped later when the stock is replenished, but must be reordered at that time. Regular ordering policies will apply.
For environmental reasons, packing slips will not be shipped with any order. Customers are encouraged to use a copy of the emailed invoice as a packing slip instead.
MUTHALAND SECRETS will not be held responsible for refunding the cost of freight for Expedited or Express shipments or on any orders that are delayed for reasons outside of our control.
Shipping and Handling
Depending on your items and their destination a range of shipping and handling options can be chosen. Your selection will determine the cost and speed of your shipment’s arrival. Once you have selected your items and proceeded to the Secure Checkout all available shipping options will be presented to you after you have chosen a delivery address.
Secure Checkout displays sections for Order Total, which shows all Shipping costs, and Cart Summary, which shows individual expected delivery dates for each item. These costs and dates are calculated based on your specific delivery address and will show accurate information for any delivery method you choose, updated in real time. Each order must be shipped to a single address, if a part of your order is intended to be shipped to a second address simply place that order separately.
Whether you choose to ship your items for free or pay for upgraded shipping, we always want you to ship with confidence.
If your order is shipping within Canada or the US and your total exceeds $50.00 (after any coupons or discounts and before any gift wrap charges or taxes), then “Free Standard Shipping” will be an available option when you’re ready to checkout. Make sure this option is selected to take advantage of the offer. If you subsequently cancel part of your order and decrease your order total it may affect your order’s eligibility for the offer.
When you choose Free Shipping your order will be held in most cases until all items are available to ship. If any items in your order are not in our warehouse (such as pre-order or back order items) your full order will ship only once all items are ready. You will have the option during Secure Checkout to choose a paid shipping option for any out of stock items, so long as your remaining purchases still qualify for the Free Shipping Offer.
Certain items are not eligible for Free Shipping, including items with excessive size and weight. If an item is not eligible for Free Shipping we will note it on the item page. Gift Cards do not qualify for Free Shipping. If your destination address is considered remote your order is not eligible for Free Shipping
Time To Ship
An expected delivery date is provided for every item in your order. In Stock items are normally packed and shipped by the next business day.
If your item is back ordered (the product page and order confirmation will show a “Ships within…” time frame) you’ll need to add that time to when you can expect us to be able to ship your item. For example, if your item says it ships within 1-2 weeks, you should add 14 days plus one business day for us to pack and ship your item
Once your order has been shipped you can see the status of your delivery, and what to do if you think something might be delayed or missing.
When you choose paid shipping we ship your items as soon as possible, normally the next business day once they are in our warehouse. If your item is back ordered and requires time to arrive at our warehouse you’ll see this reflected on the item pages and this time will automatically be included in the expected delivery dates. If your item is pre-ordered we will ship it as soon as it arrives in our warehouse, unless the manufacturer or publisher stipulates that it must not be shipped until the official day of release or publication.
If your order is shipping to an address that differs from your billing address on file with your payment card issuer processing delays may occur. We may need to contact you at the telephone number on file with your payment card issuer prior to order processing. This method of personal communication helps safeguard our customers when orders are shipping to an address that differs from their billing address. To avoid delivery delays please provide the telephone number on file with your payment card issuer, that you can be reached at, should we need to contact you.
Please note that shipping costs are based on weight/size of items and distance to destination for an order from our warehouse.
Free Shipping has the same delivery time frames as standard shipping. You will only be able to choose Standard Shipping when your order has not qualified for the Free Shipping Offer. This is our most economical paid shipping method.
This is an upgraded paid shipping method that carries a higher cost and in most cases delivers your order more quickly. Depending on your destination address the amount of time this method can save will vary, and your expected delivery dates will always be listed in the Cart Summary.
US Destination Shipping
We ship to the all of the United States excluding: U.S. protectorates and APO/FPO addresses if not in the Continental United States.
This is the only shipping option if your order is destined for an eligible delivery address outside Canada and the United States. Your expected delivery date will reflect a longer wait time, typically 4-8 weeks after your shipment leaves our warehouse. There may be duties or taxes levied against packages arriving from outside the destination country as determined by local Customs and Immigration agencies and these are the responsibility of the recipient.
We are always looking for new opportunities to expand our available shipping destinations. Currently we ship to the following countries: Australia, Belgium, Bermuda, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and The United Kingdom. We’re not able to accept orders or establish an account if your country is not listed.
International credit card orders may be subject to further verification prior to order processing.
All prices are in Canadian dollars ($CAD). We don’t add tax to US and international orders, but you may have to pay local taxes and customs charges in your country. We do not accept responsibility for these charges.
International orders may be opened by official Customs Agents for review of their contents. Certain products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
As of July 1st 2010, no company in Ontario will be tax exempt.
Customers in provinces that participate in HST will be charged their respective rates:
New Brunswick – 15%
Newfoundland & Labrador – 15%
Nova Scotia – 15%
Ontario – 13%
Prince Edward Island – 15%
Customers in provinces that do not participate in HST will only be charged 5% GST – Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Quebec, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Saskatchewan & Yukon.
Customers who are picking up orders must pay Ontario’s 13% HST even if they are not from Ontario. The taxes will be charged when the orders is processed.
Multiple Shipping Addresses
Can I ship items in my order to different addresses?
At MUTHALAND SECRETS, while we strive to offer as broad a range of shipping options as possible, we’re simply unable to process single orders to multiple addresses, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
If you would like to have an item shipped to a different address, simply place a separate order using your choice of shipping address.
